BEAUFORT-WES NUUS - Die dodetal in vanoggend se busramp naby Beaufort-Wes het tot tien gestyg.
Volgens inligting wat intussen bekom is, is 30 beseerdes na die hospitaal op Beaufort-Wes geneem.
Van hulle is reeds per helikopter na George gevlieg en daar is nog beseerdes wat deur die loop van die oggend na George afgevoer sal word.
Dit is onduidelik presies hoeveel mense in die bus was, maar voorlopige inligting dui daarop dat daar 49 was. Sover vasgestel kan word is nege passasiers nie beseer nie.
Die Beaufort-Wes munisipaliteit doen alles in hulle vermoë om die slagoffers by te staan. Die burgemeester, Noel Constable, is by die hospitaal om beseerdes te ondersteun.
Oorblyfsels van ‘n koedoe is ook naby die toneel gevind en daar word bespeigel dat die bus moontlik die koedoe getref het waarna dit die pad verlaat het.
Nooddienswerkers is steeds op die toneel.
Die bus was vanaf Kaapstad na die Oos-Kaap onderweg.
Die botsing het 53km buite Beaufort-Wes op die R61 tussen Beaufort-Wes en Aberdeen gebeur.
'n Beheerpunt is in plek by die toneel van die botsing om verkeer te reguleer.

The death toll in this morning’s horrific bus accident near Beaufort West, has risen to 10.
According to the latest information, 30 injured people have been taken to the hospital in Beaufort West.
Some have already been flown to George by helicopter and more will be transported to George in the course of the morning.
The exact number of people in the bus is unclear, but preliminary information indicates that there were 49 passengers. As far as can be established, nine passengers have escaped injury.
It is being speculated that the bus may have left the road after hitting a kudu, the remains of which has been found near the scene.
Emergency workers are still at the scene.
The bus was en route to the East Cape from Cape Town. The accident occurred 53km outside Beaufort West, on the R61 between Beaufort West and Aberdeen.
A stop/go system is in place to regulate traffic.
The Beaufort West Municipality is doing everything possible to support the victims. The mayor, Noel Constable, is at the hospital to encourage the injured.
