GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - The well-known deputy director of the Anglo-Boer War Museum in Bloemfontein, Johan van Zyl, will be the guest speaker on two occasions in the George Museum on Wednesday 23 October.
The event is organised by the Southern Cape branch of the Genealogical Society of South Africa.
The sessions will take place at 14:00 and 18:00 in the Charles Sayers Auditorium of the George Museum.
Johan van Zyl is the editor/author of Hundred Objects of the Anglo-Boer War, published in 2017, which received worldwide attention and triggered renewed interest in the events around the war worldwide.
Many persons from the United Kingdom, Australia, South Africa and all the countries that supplied soldiers to the two sides in the Anglo-Boer War, are interested in visiting South Africa and the museum in Bloemfontein, in their search for links to their families' involvement.
