OUDTSHOORN NEWS -  Animal Care Team (ACT) is delighted with the overwhelming success of its Animal Day, held on Saturday 5 September. 

The event brought together animal lovers, families, local businesses, stallholders and members of the community for a fun-filled day dedicated to supporting animals and promoting animal welfare. 

One of the highlights of the day was the range of essential animal care services made available to pet owners. A total of 150 dogs received rabies vaccinations, six dogs were microchipped, 56 animals were vaccinated and 74 animals were dewormed. 

Twelve volunteers contributed their time and efforts to the event, while more than 50 stallholders showcased their products and services. Numerous prizes were also won throughout the day. 

Animals were treated to flea and tick dips, while grooming services provided plenty of pampering. Many dogs enjoyed being thoroughly groomed and left looking and feeling their best.

The market was another major attraction, with more than 50 stalls offering a wide variety of crafts, handmade goods, artwork, delicious food and other unique products. The excellent selection of local stallholders contributed to the vibrant and festive atmosphere throughout the event. 

ACT would also like to extend its heartfelt thanks to Eden FM, which joined the event for the greatest part of the day. The station assisted with announcements, provided music and kept visitors entertained, adding greatly to the atmosphere and excitement. 

The success of the event was made possible through the support and generosity of the community, sponsors, stallholders, volunteers, service providers and everyone who attended. ACT expressed its sincere gratitude to every person who contributed to making the day such a memorable success. 

The impressive turnout and strong community support once again demonstrated the community’s commitment to the well-being and welfare of animals.
