The donation of R20 000 was made to Zeekoegat Primary School Project, a community project run at Safari Ostrich Show Farm by Sharon Fisch on behalf of IBEX Financial Services.
Many of the children at the school do not have the means to afford school uniforms.
Zeekoegat Primary School Project is run from Safari Ostrich Show Farm as their contribution to their immediate community. Safari has been supporting the school for the last ten years. The project wishes to raise enough money to be able to provide the children with school shoes and winter uniforms for this year.
The work done at Zeekoegat Primary has also attracted the attention of national news crews. An SABC news crew picked up a report on Oudtshoorn Courant's online platform regarding the donation of reading glasses to Zeekoegat's learners (see page 13) and visited the school this week.
Interviews with the school's learners, teachers and trustees of the Zeekoegat Primary School Project were conducted.
