Warning: 'Detoxing' can be addictive
Some people experience a 'high' from detox-type diets or treatments. They do these things more and more often to get that feeling again. This can be detrimental in a number of ways, including potentially leading to malnourishment.
Doing detoxes and fasting too regularly could also slow your metabolic rate slightly, making weight loss more difficult.
Eating too little is not a productive way to lose weight.
An effective weight-loss programme will advise you to periodically reduce calories slightly throughout the weight-loss process. If you start off eating almost nothing it becomes pretty hard to titrate (continuously measure and adjust the balance of) calories downward.
