WESTERN CAPE NEWS - Premier Alan Winde has asked residents to practice positive behaviours over the weekend to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
According to a media statement earlier today:
As we enjoy the weekend, I call on all residents to continue to practice the positive behaviours that they have learnt over the past year to prevent the spread of Covid-19, particularly as we are facing a resurgence.
We can do this by washing and sanitizing our hands regularly, wearing our masks correctly and maintaining a safe social distance.
At the same time, we must continue to avoid the 3 Cs which include crowded spaces, close contact and confined spaces. If you are meeting with friends and family over the weekend, please keep gatherings short, small and outdoors, where possible.
On Monday, 17 May, we will begin Phase 2 of our mass vaccination plan. I call on residents to help those over 60 to register on the EVDS system, which can be found at: https://vaccine.enroll.health.gov.za/
To register, you can also Dial *134*832# and follow the prompts (FREE on all South African Networks), or Whatsapp the word REGISTER to 0600 123456.
Should you need assistance with the registration process, do not hesitate to visit www.sacoronavirus.co.za/evds/support/ or call our call centre on 0860 142 142. #LetsDoThis Western Cape.
