OUDTSHOORN NEWS - Hannes Visser, the editor of the Oudtshoorn Courant, has just been named 'Investigative Journalist of the Year' at the annual Caxton Excellence Awards.
The awards ceremony is currently taking place at Kyalami's Theatre on the Track in Midrand, Gauteng.
Visser won the award for a series of articles he wrote on licensing fraud in Oudtshoorn.
He was also a finalist in the 'Best Regular Column' category.
The Oudtshoorn Courant's sister newspaper, the Mossel Bay Advertiser, was the runner-up in the 'Best Sold Newspaper under 8000 Copies' category.
