GARDEN ROUTE | KAROO NEWS - Oudtshoorn Municipality confirmed that the liquid spillage reported earlier this morning, is oil.
Oil was spilled in several places over a long stretch of the N12 between George and Oudtshoorn.
The Oudtshoorn Municipality disaster management team discovered that the spillage comes from a truck transporting containers of oil. The truck was travelling in the direction of Oudtshoorn (from George)
Emergency personnel are on the scene to regulate traffic and to conduct mop-up operations.
No injuries have been reported.
