OUDTSHOORN NEWS - Oudtshoorn Municipality issued a notice about a possible power outage in Oudtshoorn tomorrow, 18 October.

However, Aurelia Mle, liaison officer for the municipality, says no power outages in Oudtshoorn are expected tomorrow. 

"Eskom will be servicing the 11KV transformer, but Oudtshoorn has another 22KV transformer to handle the load while this work is done. The previous message may have been misinterpreted by some individuals."

According to her, the post was intended to inform residents about potential isolated situations.

The municipality has been informed of an Eskom unplanned emergency outage on the Oudtshoorn 11kV supply on Wednesday, 18 October, from 07:30 - 16:00. They will do the necessary load shifting to ensure there are no customers affected.

"Eskom outage planning is beyond the control of the municipality, and we will do the utmost to ensure minimal interruption to our customers."
