GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - The Southern Cape branch of the Genealogy Society of South Africa (GSSA) will host the national AGM and Awards Function on 9/10 March at the Wilderness Hotel. 

Branches of the GSSA from all over South Africa will attend this national conference.

Barkhuizen family history
Johan Barkhuizen, who recently published a book on the Barkhuizen family history, will address the Southern Cape branch and all Barkhuizen family members who are interested, on Saturday 3 February at 09:00 at the George Museum, about his research on his family, and the new book.

Raubenheimer-family history
The well-known George businessman Bennie Raubenheimer recently presented a copy of the second updated family history of the Raubenheimer family, written by Dennis Raubenheimer, to the Southern Cape GSSA.

Cowley-family history
Well-known sport commentator Gavin Cowley, who recently joined the Southern Cape GSSA as a member, presented a copy of his book on the Cowley-family history to the society.

These three books will be available at the library and the research centre of the Southern Cape branch.
