Update
GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - During a fire coordination at the Joint Operation Centre meeting at 19:00 this evening 29 October, role players were informed by SAPS of more shocking news - the total fatalities in the Karatara area has increased to seven people.
An additional loss of one adult and two have been confirmed.
Please keep the affected families and community members in your prayers.
Some official releases say 8 people have passed away.
