KAROO NEWS - A fire has started in the veld at the back of Schoemanshoek due to the extreme heat. It is 42° C in Oudtshoorn today, 20 January.
GRDM Firefighters have been deployed to assist other role-players with the fire.
The Disaster Management Team is actively coordinating with the military, who have deployed a vehicle to aid efforts. A PDMC first hour of Aerial Assistance was activated as well.
