GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - In an official press release issued today at 12:20 by David Maynier, Western Cape Minister of Finance and economic opportunities, it was again stated that cigarette sales are allowed in the Western Cape.
Cigarettes may only be purchased together with the purchase of other essential goods.
Tobacconists remain closed, but supermarkets and other vendors of tobacco products that also sell essential goods, may put their cigarette stocks back on the shelves.
This morning the Heather Park Spar in George said they have not restarted cigarette sales as they are waiting for a directive from head office.
