OUDTSHOORN NUUS - Die munisipaliteit ontvang steeds oproepe van huishoudings wat om voedselhulp wil aansoek doen.
In reaksie hier op het die munisipaliteit vandag die volgende verklaring uitgereik:
Please be advised that the Disaster management centre cannot help with enquiries, supply and delivery for food relief.
The Municipal process to take new application has already been closed. 13 000 applications were received; not all applicants will receive food relief parcels.
The distribution is ongoing.
New applications for food relief can be directed to the Department of Social Develop (DSD) call centre numbers:
- 0860 142 142 (07:00 to 19:00) Monday to Sunday
- 0800 220 250 (07:30 to 16:30) Monday to Friday
- 079 769 1207 (please call me anytime, response during official hours)
Prospective applicants of Social Relief of Distress are requested to be honest so that it is given to the most needy.
It is being discovered during delivery that some households are applying several times using different family members who belong to the same household.
Some use others residential addresses thinking that it will not be discovered that one household has applied multiple times.
