On Sunday and Monday, the airline's planes were grounded due to its apparent failure to make payments to Airports Company South Africa and the ATNS.
Management has acknowledged poor financial decisions at Skywise, but also claim they weren't given enough notice to meet their deadlines.
Skywise President Tabassum Qadi says they only received an email to this regard on Saturday evening.
“Once you stop, all suppliers panic. It’s normal business. It’s normal to be in arrears sometimes. And then you get a notice of three to four days and you make the payments. It’s not a financial issue. It’s more a political issue, I guess.”
