OUDTSHOORN BUSINESS NEWS - South Cape Insurance Verification Services (SCIVS) brings with it a wide range of investigating and verification services to the Southern Cape.
One of the company's directors, Wessie van der Westhuizen, who is an investigator and subject matter specialist, relocated to Calitzdorp this year which enables him to offer the company's specialised services to the Southern Cape on a personal level. SCVIS is part of a national group and operates nationwide. The other director, Daniël van Coller is in Gauteng.
One of their key services is the verification of insurance claims to determine the merits of the circumstances of client's loss and to submit a report to the insurer on the basis of which a claim will be accepted or denied in terms of the policy.
SCVIS also provides services such as polygraph tests, layered voice analysis, tracking and surveillance, collecting of fingerprints and data from crime scenes, forensic fire investigations and private investigations.
Van der Westhuizen says the company was started in 2014 as Investigation Services SA t/a South Cape Insurance Verification Services. In 2016 the directors changed the name to South Cape Insurance Verification Services (SCIVS).
"Research and proven methodology have shown that the verification of claims has become a necessity in the insurance industry to prevent and combat syndicated fraud," says Van der Westhuizen.
According to him, all investigators in SCIVS have an average of 20 years' experience in the verification of insurance claims and the interpretation of policy wording. These investigators were previously in the employ of organisations and companies such as the SIU, Mutual and Federal Insurance as well as other insurance companies and as detectives in the SAPS.
SCIVS also develops and presents outstanding skills' training and workshops in the industry.
