GEORGE MOTORING NEWS - Imperial Auto is celebrating ten years of operation in the George motor industry.
The Ford, Mazda, Land Rover and Volvo franchises were acquired in the latter half of 2008 and the Mitsubishi brand was added in 2011.
With Jaguar being added to the Land Rover portfolio, a decision was taken to rationalise the brand offer to Ford, Mazda, Jaguar and Land Rover.
The business immediately showed robust growth with steady annual increases in revenue in excess of 30% and it was inevitable that the old facility in York Street was no longer suitable.
After considering upgrading the premises and various other options a bold decision was taken to purchase land in the Eden Meander development and to develop a Greenfield site. The risk of being the only motor dealer and retail business in the area was a concern at the time but the surge in development by other retailers and motor dealers following our relocation was confirmation that this was the correct decision.
Coincidentally, Ford, Jaguar and Land Rover all launched new international corporate identities and showroom designs early in 2014. This resulted in Imperial George being the first location in South Africa to open with the new livery.
Energy saving and water recycling were paramount in the building design and the developer and main contractor were instructed to use local suppliers and tradesmen wherever possible.
There are already concepts in place for expansion of the dealership in the near future. In celebration of our tenth anniversary, Imperial Auto George in Eden Meander on Knysna Road is having a massive sale on new and used cars and demo vehicles in the final two weeks of August.
There is an exciting range of vehicles to experience, so everyone is welcome to pop in for a browse and to ask questions from the friendly and experienced sales teams.
