Youth Cycling Champs a resounding success

OUDTSHOORN NEWS - The annual Cycling SA Road Cycling Championships took place in Bridgton, Oudtshoorn, this weekend and consisted of criterium races, individual time trials and road races for youth categories.

The championships were well supported, and the cyclists turned out in large numbers.

The event delivered exciting, high-intensity racing and highlighted the depth of young cycling talent in South Africa, while promoting teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the competition.

Corné Bence, Eden Cycling's chairperson, commented: "We made history this year, with para-cyclists taking part for the first time. Twelve blind riders also took part in the tandem race, with members of the Oudtshoorn and Bridgton Cycling Clubs acting as pilots for these riders.

"The vice president of cycling, Charles Cross, the head of development and transformation, Nico Dunn, and the head of technical aspects, Della Pohl, were all in attendance."

Bence said the race was a huge success, and no incidents were reported. He also thanked all the sponsors for their contribution to the successful event.
