OUDTSHOORN NEWS - The 13th Timbercity Cycle Tour takes place on Sunday 10 November from 08:00 to 18:00 in Oudtshoorn. Between 300 and 500 cyclists are expected to take part.
Offering routes of 100km, 50km, and 24km, the Timbercity Cycle Tour is designed to challenge cyclists of every skill level, from recreational riders to seasoned professionals. This unique event forms part of the Cape Cycle Tour and provides cyclists an unforgettable experience that blends the beauty of Oudtshoorn’s landscapes with the thrill of a well-designed race.
The Timbercity Cycle Tour is an exhilarating and highly anticipated annual cycling event renowned for its stunning natural landscapes and cycling-friendly infrastructure, it attracts cyclists from all over the world to participate in this thrilling race.
The cycle tour takes participants on a challenging yet scenic route through the heart of Oudtshoorn and its surrounding areas. Riders navigate through a combination of urban streets, rural roads, and breathtaking countryside, providing a diverse and exciting experience.
The Timbercity Cycle Tour offers multiple categories for cyclists of all skill levels and ages. From amateur riders seeking a personal challenge to professional athletes aiming to test their limits, there is a category suitable for everyone. Participants can choose between various distances, including shorter routes for recreational cyclists and longer routes for those seeking a more demanding adventure.
After the completion of the tour, the Timbercity Street Mile will take place, with open men's and women's races, and prizes for the top three in the open race, and the first u.17 man and woman.
Road Closures for cycle tour
A part of Baron van Reede Street from the Route 62 Bar & Grill up to the Tfasa Lodge near the Cango Wildlife Ranch will be closed for traffic on Sunday 10 November from 06:00 -13:00.
The area in front of Route 62 will be closed on Saturday 9 November from 23:00 for the team to erect the start and finish points of the race.
