OUDTSHOORN NEWS - The gaming tournament that was previously postponed has been rescheduled and will now take place on 11 July.
The event forms part of an ongoing initiative creating positive opportunities for young people in Oudtshoorn through organised recreational activities.
Organisers Mxolisi Manata and Jason Stoffels, both passionate gamers, identified a need for a formal gaming platform in Oudtshoorn.
They have also announced a partnership with True South eSports Kulture, which will showcase the growing world of eSports and highlight the positive impact competitive gaming can have on youth development.
As part of the programme, True South eSports Kulture will host a, Call of Duty Mobile Tournament, providing local gamers with an opportunity to compete, develop their skills and connect with others who share their passion.
According to them, the initiative is about more than gaming. It aims to strengthen community ties, encourage teamwork, develop valuable skills and create a safe, positive environment for young people.
"Our vision has always been to keep young people engaged in meaningful activities and away from negative influences," Manata said.
They believe gaming can inspire the next generation, uncover hidden talent, and open doors to exciting opportunities.
Both Manata and Stoffels said that they are looking forward to bringing the community together for the event and creating a memorable experience for all participants and spectators.
Further details regarding the venue, registration process and tournament schedule will be announced in due course.
