FOOTBALL NEWS - A former learner of Holy Cross Primary School, Anam Menziwe/Mvalo (16), has been recruited by The Football Project, an agency scouting talent across Africa that provides professional chances at local and international clubs.
Anam was selected to be one of 23 boys to go on a two-week tour in Sweden between September and December this year, where he will play in trials in the hopes of being scouted by one or more of the Swedish clubs. If he is scouted, it could lead to signing with one of the professional clubs.
Anam, who hails from the dusty streets of Lawaaikamp, played for Black Cats development teams, and is currently in Grade 10 at Lyttelton High School in Pretoria. He plays for the University of Pretoria (Tuks) u.17 team.
For him to join the tour to Sweden, he needs the support of generous individuals and businesses in the community.
The tour will cost each player approximately R40 000. The youngster says a donation of any size will be much appreciated and would go long way.
Please contact Anam's mother on 071 949 9909 if you are able to support in any way.
