OUDTSHOORN NEWS - It is official. The experienced 36-year-old seam bowler, Basheeru-Dean Walters, is now part of the Six Gun Grill Garden Route Badgers. He joined the squad the past week in preparation for the upcoming season.
Walters, who made his first-class debut in 2007 for Eastern Province, also represented the Warriors and Western Province in a provincial career of almost 15 years.
In 132 first-class matches, he bagged 351 wickets with a career-best match analysis of 10/107. Walters played 109 List A matches with the best bowling performance of 5/29 and 121 wickets. He bagged 58 wickets in 76 T20 matches.
Piet Botha, head coach of the Badgers, said Walters brings a lot of experience and the ability to take wickets to the team and bowling unit.
