OUDTSHOORN NEWS - The South Western Districts Cricket (SWD Cricket) NPC’s AGM will take place at its offices at 10:00 on Saturday 15 August.
Following the unification of sporting bodies in 1991 and the establishment of a unified SWD Cricket board, all affiliated members of Cricket SA were constituted as non-profit companies in 2014, following recommendations made by the Nicholson Commission.
This year, the positions of president, currently held by Michael Eksteen, and vice president, currently held by Clyde Avontuur, will be up for re-election.
These positions are among five non-independent director positions that are due for re-election. Non-independent directors are elected from the club structures.
The first terms of two independent directors, JP Rossouw, lead independent director and chairperson of the audit and risk committee, and Loyiso Shoto, chairperson of the diversity, equity and inclusivity committee, will also come to an end. Both directors are eligible for reappointment.
The nominated candidates for these five non-independent director positions are Abigail Bird, Donovan Claassen, Michael Eksteen, Mario Jansen, Luzuko Mralasi, Colleen Murphy, Earle Peterson, Kathrisha Strydom and Mornay Stuurman.
