SABC to appeal ruling on Motsoeneng

NATIONAL NEWS - The SABC has confirmed it will go to the highest court in the land to stop its chief operations officer Hlaudi Motsoeneng from being suspended.

The public broadcaster has instructed lawyers to lodge an urgent appeal with the Constitutional Court.

Yesterday the Supreme Court of Appeal in Bloemfontein upheld another court's order compelling the SABC board to suspend Motsoeneng pending the outcome of a disciplinary hearing.

The order is in line with what Public Protector Thuli Madonsela instructions to the board after she investigated governance failures at the broadcaster last year.
