GEORGE NEWS - Members of the George Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual offences (FCS) unit secured a 24-year imprisonment after a man (24) raped his 14-year-old cousin on a farm in Herold in October 2022.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson Sgt Chris Spies, the investigation revealed that the girl's mother granted permission for the victim to accompany her cousin to a nearby house.
The cousins had close family ties and it wasn't strange for them to spend time together.
Upon their return, the man lured the girl into bushes where he raped her. She reported the incident to her mother on arrival at home.
The matter was reported to local police and an investigation commenced.
