The Sowetan is reporting that a police investigation has been opened at the Sunnyside station into claims that advocate Thuli Madonsela was a spy for the US Central Intelligence Agency.
The accusation was first made by Umkhonto We Sizwe Military Veterans Assocation (MKMVA) chairperson Kebby Maphatsoe last year, as supporters of President Jacob Zuma defended him over the Nkandla upgrades.
African National Congress member Pedron Nndwa, who opened the inquiry, says it’s time that the allegations against Madonsela be tested in a court of law.
