Boy attacked by tiger at Free State lodge

NATIONAL NEWS - A ten-year-old French boy has received surgery at a Johannesburg hospital after he sustained deep wounds to his face when he was attacked by a tiger at a Free State lodge.

The boy and his father were visiting a friend when the incident happened during a visit to the Tau Thaba Game And Lion Lodge near Heilbron on Friday.

The family claims the tiger grabbed the boy’s arm through a fence when he tried to take a photo with the animals.

Fareed Seniham is a family friend who took photos of the boy and the animals enclosed behind the fence before the child was attacked.

He has accused the lodge of being negligent.
