Meanwhile, do the following:
• Close taps while soaping hands, shaving or brushing teeth.
• Take showers instead of baths.
• Place a bucket in the shower when showering. Recycle the excess water it collects.
• Reduce the time spent in the shower by making use of a shower timer. A shower uses 15 to 18 litres per minute.
• Fix drips and leaks.
• Use paper towels in the kitchen.
• Collect the water you use while rinsing fruit and vegetables. Use it to water house plants.
• Use hand sanitiser instead of washing your hands with water.
• Where possible, push the "half flush" button (the small button) when you flush the toilet.
It uses 50% less water than the full flush (large button).
• Talk to your children and staff about the need and urgency to save water.
