NATIONAL NEWS - Extremely high fire conditions are expected over the Central Karoo on Friday, 10 October, according to the South African Weather Service.
Regional weather forecast for Friday:
Western Cape
Morning fog patches over the Overberg and Breede Valley, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot but fine over the interior. It will be fine and cool along the south coast with light rain mainly from late afternoon.
The wind along the coast will be light to moderate westerly to south-westerly east of Mossel Bay in the morning, otherwise moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly, but strong along the south-west coast.
It will become moderate to fresh northerly to north-westerly north of Cape Columbine from the late morning.
The expected UVB sunburn index: Very High
Western half of the Eastern Cape
Cloudy in the south with fog patches in the morning, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot, becoming cloudy along the coast with light rain in places in the afternoon.
The wind along the coast will be moderate easterly at first, otherwise, light and variable, becoming moderate south-easterly in the evening.
Eastern half of the Eastern Cape
Fine and warm to hot, becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon.
The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-easterly, becoming moderate south-westerly in the evening.
