DYSSELSDORP NEWS - Oudtshoorn Municipality wishes to inform residents of Dysselsdorp that a pipe break occurred yesterday, resulting in a significant loss of water from the supply system.
The break was particularly difficult to locate as the leaking water was not visible on the surface but was flowing directly into the stormwater network. Municipal teams worked to locate the source of the leak and were able to identify and isolate the affected section early this morning.
Unfortunately, the prolonged water loss caused reservoir levels to drop significantly, resulting in water supply interruptions and low pressure in parts of Dysselsdorp.
The pipe break has now been isolated and reservoir levels are steadily recovering. We anticipate that water supply will be restored progressively to all affected areas during the course of today as the reservoir levels improve and the distribution network stabilises.
Residents are requested to please use water sparingly while the system recovers to assist with the restoration of reservoir levels.
The Municipality apologises for the inconvenience caused and thanks residents for their patience and understanding.
