OUDTSHOORN NEWS - The Tshezi Foundation, a community and educational non-profit established in 2023, continues to make a meaningful impact in the lives of disadvantaged learners in the Oudtshoorn and broader Garden Route communities.
It was founded by Bandile Mbalo, who also serves as president. The foundation recently donated seven full school uniforms to learners at Bongolethu Primary School and four full school uniforms to learners at Fezekile Secondary School.
In addition, the foundation handed over 38 boxes of sanitary pads to Bongolethu Primary and 35 boxes to Fezekile Secondary, ensuring that more learners can attend school with dignity and confidence.
Mbalo, who works as a Specialist Programme Manager for the National Department focusing on Municipal Infrastructure and Local Government Operations and Support, said the initiative is part of the foundation's ongoing commitment to improving access to education and supporting youth development.
"Our goal is to build a better society through education and capacity development," Mbalo explained.
"We believe that by investing in learners today, we are shaping stronger communities for tomorrow."
Since its establishment, the Tshezi Foun-dation has spent five years advocating for community upliftment and assisting underprivileged children.
The organisation is sustained through Mbalo's own contributions, as well as donations from Ayanda Tshukulwana, Bulelani Blaauw, Thamsanqa Mooi, Anathi Ngalo, Lukhanyiso Jantjies, and local businesses that share the foundation's vision.

The foundation's mission is to catalyse social change through developing people, strengthening systems, and providing innovative solutions.
Mbalo says the name "Tshezi" originates from his clan name, which serves as a meaningful reminder of his roots and the community spirit that drives his work.
"My motto in life is simple: In order to succeed, you must surround yourself with successful people so that success can be reciprocated."
The Tshezi Foundation plans to con-tinue expanding its outreach, focusing on educational support, mentorship, and essential resources for children in need throughout the Garden Route.
