OUDTSHOORN NEWS - Mkhululi Yekani was officially appointed as the new municipal manager of The Greater Oudtshoorn Municipality.
According to Aurelia Mle, spokesperson for the Oudtshoorn Municipality, the decision was made by the municipal council on 31 March during a special council meeting.
Yekani has been appointed on a performance-based fixed-term contract, not exceeding one year after the next local government elections.
The council's decision awaits concurrence from the Western Cape MEC for Local Government, Environmental Affairs and Development Planning.
"We are committed to transparency and will submit a detailed report to the MEC within 14 days, as resolved. Oudtshoorn Municipality looks forward to Mr. Yekani's leadership in advancing our vision of prosperity for all," said Oudtshoorn Mayor, Johan Allers.
