MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The third instalment of the kykNET Outdoor Expo Southern Cape opened its gates to scores of excited locals and holidaymakers at the Hartenbos ATKV Amphitheatre today, 3 October.
The expo, which was first held in Mossel Bay at the Amphitheatre in 2023, will be open for visitors until Sunday 5 October.
Aimed at outdoor, camping and 4x4 enthusiasts, the event attracted 15 000 visitors last year. This year, the expo boasts 150 exhibitors, with several new stallholders showing off their wares. Whether you are eight or 80, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
From food stalls, beer tents, wine gardens, a kids' corner and stalls selling art, knives, shoes, clothes, delectable sweet treats and savoury delights to displays of the very latest camping, caravan and outdoor products, you can be sure to find something interesting to look at, and maybe even buy.
The event offers 4x4 obstacle rides with the famous Mr 4x4, André de Villiers, and Mossel Bay Ford, and while this is not a music festival, there will be performances by Rooies, Blackie Swart, Desmond Wells, David Fourie, Dewald Dippenaar, Brandon Miles, Byron Minnie, Wicus van der Merwe and Snotkop. Antowan Nöthling all the way from Pretoria FM is the MC for the weekend.
Mossel Bay Helicopters also offers helicopter flights during which the beautiful coastline can be observed from the air, so bring those cameras along to capture it!
Tomorrow, 4 October, the expo will show the South Africa vs Argentina rugby match on its big screen.
