GARDEN ROUTE | KAROO NEWS - The SA Weather Service has advised of extremely high fire danger conditions expected over the interior of Namakwa District (N.Cape) and the northern parts of the West Coast District, Cape Winelands, Little Karoo and Central Karoo and the Swellendam Municipality tomorrow, Thursday 11 December.
Day time temperatures are expected to reach the low 40s in many interior areas.
Impacts:
When the temperature is extremely high, humans' ability to cool their bodies through sweating is reduced. This can be a real threat that may lead to hyperthermia.
In an extremely hot environment, the most serious health and safety concern is heat stroke. Heat stroke can be fatal if medical attention is not available immediately.

Western Cape
Partly cloudy and warm to hot but very hot to extremely hot in places over the interior, mainly the eastern parts. The wind along the coast will be light easterly to south-easterly becoming fresh north-westerly in the west and south-west and south-westerly in the evening, but moderate south-easterly along the south coast.

Western half of the Eastern Cape
Warm in places along the coast, otherwise fine and hot to very hot, becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon.
The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-easterly.
Eastern half of the Eastern Cape
Fine and warm to hot, becoming partly cloudy with isolated thundershowers in the north. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong north-easterly.
