OUDTSHOORN NEWS - The first Eden International Youth Festival will take place at Bridgton Secondary School from 30 November to 5 December.
The festival is aimed at young people from the greater Oudtshoorn district, and includes international guests. The festival spans over one week and will include different master classes (short courses in different genres over three days, from 30 November to 2 December.
The respective master classes will focus on the art genres of dance, drama, music video production, photography and visual arts. These master classes will be presented by professionals in each of these genres. Kim Cassels that placed sixth in the World Hip Hop Championships in Italy earlier this year, will be the dance facilitator.
Kyle Lewis, Sama award winning music video producer, that has produced for artists like the Parlotones, will facilitate the music video production class.
Kobus Spies (Karoo op Doek) is the visual arts facilitator. Local photographer Rudy van Heerden, will train participants in photography.
The participants will enter into competitions with their new found skills they acquired during the master class training sessions.
Artists like Pasella presenter Hemelbesem, and famous Port Elizebeth Rapper Early B, are some of the artists expected to entertain festival audiences at this exciting Youth Festival.
The Eden International Youth Festival will be closed with an award ceremony on 5 December. This event is a total must attend for community members of the greater Oudtshoorn and Eden district. Entry fee will be R10. The day pass is R20 and the weekend pass is R50. The festival starts at 9:00 and end at 18:00.
