Update
GEORGE NEWS - One person was arrested in Thembalethu following an armed robbery at a jewelry store in the Garden Route Mall earlier today, Friday 27 October.
According to information, the vehicle in which the suspects fled the scene was seen in Thembalethu after the incident.
Police managed to arrest one suspect and confiscated the vehicle. More detail about the arrest will follow when confirmed.
The vehicle is believed to have been involved in a hijacking in Delft earlier this year.
The other suspects are still at large.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson Sgt Chris Spies, five suspects, of which at least one was armed, entered the business at approximately 10:00 this morning. They threatened staff members and made off with a large amount of jewelry.
