Jonkers appointed as district director

GARDEN ROUTE DISTRICT NEWS - The Eden and Central Karoo Education District has appointed Jewel Jonkers as the new district director, effective 1 November.

Jonkers says he is proud and honoured to take up the position.

"I am delighted to function in this pivotal position as it allows me to partner with the WCED in achieving the vision of providing quality education, for every learner, in every classroom, in every school in the province."

He believes with this shared vision and the desire to transform and improve the education, the department will give our youth the momentum required to become the next-generation leaders.

"I would like to thank my colleagues and the organisation for their constant support and teamwork during the past months. I look forward to a continued prosperous partnership. I also take this opportunity to introduce my personal assistant, Hercheline Baatjies. We wish her all the best in her future endeavours, and we are confident that she will contribute to efficient management in the office of the district director."
