OUDTSHOORN NEWS - The Circuit 5 Eden Central Karoo Education District hosted a successful and fun Teachers Day. 

This event was hosted last Friday at the sports ground of Oudtshoorn School of Skills.

According to Circuit 5 Manager, Thembekile Bango, 18 of the 24 schools (278 educators) in the circuit attended as far as Calitzdorp.

"The purpose of this day is to celebrate teachers in general. Our teachers are sometimes not fully appreciated, and this day is dedicated to them to remind them that we as the district, value their sacrifices. It is also an ideal time to mingle with other colleagues from other schools where experiences and ideas can be shared," said Bango.

After the formalities, the teachers engaged with each other via fun activities such as dominoes and colour walk/run. 

Well-known local musicians Lesinda Stalmeester and Rubber Johny entertained the attendees which followed with a lucky draw and a sumptuous lunch.
