GARDEN ROUTE - The Eskom Expo for Young Scientists in the Eden Karoo region is celebrating its tenth anniversary in style. In an exciting change, all learners must now attend their district expos (judges get involved here already) to participate at the regional science fair level.
"We are looking forward to this, because it means more exposure, more ideas and all in all, so much more fun!" said Bianca Hughes-Treherne, the PR for the Eden/Karoo district.
This year's workshops will span across seven areas, Knysna, Plettenberg Bay, George, Mossel Bay, Oudtshoorn, Beaufort West, and Riversdale.
"These workshops are not just about learning; they are about empowering learners to take their scientific projects to the next level through expert assistance," said Hughes-Treherne. "This ensures that the best and brightest minds move forward, making the regional competition fiercer than ever."
The district expos will take place between 24 April and 2 May.
"To make this milestone year truly special, the expo is calling for judges and prize sponsors from local businesses," said Strydom.
With 13 categories to be adjudicated, there's ample opportunity for businesses to get involved and support the future leaders of science. If you're a postgraduate or completed a relevant degree, your expertise is particularly welcome.
For more information or to sign up as a judge, contact provincial admin assistant Sonet Strydom on 082 7111 286.
