BUSINESS NEWS - The Wine & Whatever Experience will be held at Fancourt's conference venue on 9 and 10 August, from 11:00 to 18:00 on both days.
The format of the event will be to taste wines of the same cultivar from different estates at each station before moving on to the next. Eighty-one different wines will be available to taste, compare and discuss with their creators and other wine enthusiasts.
Included in the journey are 8 Pinotage, 8 Merlot, 8 Cabernet Sauvignon, 6 Shiraz, 2 Pinot Noir, 9 Sauvignon Blanc, 6 Chenin Blanc, 7 Rose, 6 Chardonnay, 1 Viognier, 3 Fortified, 8 red blends, 4 white blends and 5 very unique wines.
You're invited to join us on a journey, educate yourself and your palate so that you too can experience the joy of an almost limitless feast for the senses.
Wine experts from various estates and distributors will be on hand to get you on your way, among them Rosco Lewis of Boland Cellar. His formal wine education started when he enrolled at Cape Peninsula University of Technology, he says. "Here I obtained a diploma in agriculture with majors in oenology and viticulture. I then worked as a winemaker's assistant and junior winemaker at two local cellars, followed by a harvest in Germany where I gained valuable international experience. I joined Boland Cellar in 2016 and am currently assistant red winemaker. This year was my eighth harvest and I feel happy and content in my career where I can live my passion daily and develop my skills and knowledge of the industry."

To optimise your wine experience, you will not only receive a 350ml crystal glass, but also a full list of all the wines, their origins and their prices. This will assist you in deciding which wines to order.
A choice of four food stations will tantalise your taste buds. On Friday there will be three demonstrations during which well-known chefs and wine experts will team up to explore combining food and wine - a match made in heaven.
