The party resolved at the end of its national congress on Saturday to contest future elections, which may include the 2019 polls.
There are over six SACP leaders serving in Parliament on the ANC ticket through dual membership.
But now that the Communist party has resolved to contest elections separately from the ANC, such deployments in Parliament may be in question.
“First of all, the SACP does not have Members of Parliament, it’s the ANC that has got Members of Parliament amongst whom are members of the SACP.”
