1ste Sylvester-bergfietswedren
Ross MacGregor van Richmond het die eerste 86 km Sylvester-bergfietswedren gewen. Sylvester die leeu het in 2015 en 2016 wêreldwyd nuus gemaak toe hy op twee geleenthede uit die Karoo Nasionale Park ontsnap het. Met die twee ontsnappings het hy altesame 347 km tussen Beaufort-Wes, Fraserburg, Merweville en omliggende areas die vryheid van die Karoo deurkruis. Sy swerwerspore in die Karoo, gaan nou jaarliks deur bergfietsryers gevolg word as deel van hierdie nuwe bergfietsbyeenkoms.
