Oudtshoorn se nuwe veteraan padwedloop trots, Booi Salman, het Saterdag sy atletiekloopbaan 'n trappie hoër geneem, toe hy na talle eer-ste plekke in verskeie onlangse 10 km-wedlope, die 21,1 km KKI-padwedloop aangedurf het. Vir Salman was dié 21,1 km-wedloop 'n eerste. Hy het in dié eerste langer afstand wedloop in sy loopbaan gewys hy is slaggereed om aan die Suid-Afrikaanse meesterskampioenskappe in Mei-maand te gaan deelneem. In 'n tyd van 1:15:30 het die Nedbank SWD-atleet eerste oor die wenstreep gehardloop.
