Nòg organisasies, individue en regeringsdepartemente het ingespring om te help om water na De Rust aan te ry. De Rust het reeds 'n geruime tyd 'n probleem met water wat so besoedel is weens die brande dat dit nie geskik is vir menslike gebruik nie. Drinkwater word al vir twee weke na De Rust gery.
